There are a few basic plumbing tips that all home-owners should know so that they can avoid the expense of calling an Atlanta plumbing company, or plumbing company anywhere else for that matter, to come to their home for basic repairs.  Now some people may be uncomfortable learning how to properly operate a plunger so this article may not be fitting for them to read.

If you are one of those people and absolutely know that you have no desire to learn how to properly use a plunger then I would suggest you click away now. Now I will be the first to tell you that in a lot of situations using a plunger in the way that I am going to describe will have its consequences. Many of you know what I mean but in case you do not there is a strong likelihood that unpleasant waste products from the basin of the toilet could splash out of the toilet and land on your person. If the mere thought of that sends you to the bathroom then I would suggest that in that situation you either call a friend who doesn’t have quite as week a stomach or you suck it up(not literally) and learn to deal with it.

The other alternative of course is to call a plumbing company in your area. But be warned, whether you are calling an Alpharetta plumber or a plumber in Kalamazoo, it will cost you.

OK back to plungers, in order to make sure that he plunger operates properly the most important thing you need to verify is that you have a good seal. Now the seal is how the rubbery part of the plunger makes contact with the porcelain toilet basin. If you have a good seal then your efforts to remove the blockage from the waste line have a good chance of being successful and effective. If you have a poor seal, all of the energy that you place into plunging the toilet will be lost and serve to help splash waste products from the toilet basin onto your person.

Now once you have a good seal, plunge down with force 5 times to ensure that you have removed the blockage. If this is done correctly you should fell that you have placed quite a bit of pressure on the waste water line. Try flushing the toilet and you should have removed the blockage from the waste line. Congratulations you have begun to master the plumber’s most useful tool: the plunger.
